Arriva Buses NW In Liverpool Disabled Passenger Row

A Liverpool mother of a disabled school girl was left chasing an Arriva bus in her car on which her daughter was travelling, and forced to cut across the bus, jamming her brakes on to block its onward travel; and risking her life in the process!

The scene of the car/bus chase come straight out of Hollywood films, but in the case was for real!

Her daughter had suffered a severe epileptic seizure on the Bus, and despite passengers calling out to the driver to stop and call an ambulance for the school girl, the driver carried on regardless, failing to stop at all despite being told of the girls condition; even at scheduled route bus stops.

Luckily one passenger had the foresight to use the girls mobile phone to call the unconscious youngster’s mother and advise her of her daughters seizure.

The bus driver carried on without stopping for several miles before the young girl’s mother caught up with the bus and stopped it by swerving ion front of it.

This is just one incident in a country where disability hate crime incidents are mushrooming on a daily basis as the Tory Government’s policy toward disabled people gives rise to accusations of disabled people being scroungers who make false claims for benefits! Ignoring the fact that these members of our society are amongst  the most vulnerable.

Arriva North West made no comment to local journalists covering the incident, merely saying they were investigating the incident and in the meantime the driver remains suspended from work.
